Lucy & James' Wedding

Unique is the first word that springs to mind when thinking of Lucy & James' wedding. The next word is fun! Having intended to get married in 2020, COVID quickly put an end to that plan, and so did thoughts of an indoor wedding. The result was a one of a kind reception at the newly opened Grazeland in Spotswood.

With such an unconventional location, the styling concept and floral design needed to not only match its surrounds, but this laid back couple. Taking inspiration from the venues bright Aperol umbrellas & blue shipping containers, as well as a story about when they first moved in together James stole milk crates for seats, a concept was created.

The tone of day, and an indicator what was to come, was set by the ceremony location at Science Works Pumping Station. A winding walk through its depth and Melbourne's history, out to a light filled courtyard and a ceremony area of orange. The rest of the day unfolded in laughter, exploration, an aperol spritz on arrival, a menu from around the world and endless fun.
